Here we go again.........it's Monday

I hope everyone understands but I'm going to take a "Loser Monday" break for the next few weeks.  I'll be back to posting them the middle of June.  I've got a few things going on right now and I can't concentrate on losing anything except my mind.  lol  Just kidding. Ok not really.  What does it mean when you rip the dirty sheets off the bed, throw the blankets in the wash, wash them, then remake the bed? Turn around and notice that the CLEAN sheets are still laying there waiting to be used.  I took the dirty ones off threw them on the floor, did a few things, picked up the dirty ones and put them back on. Well let me tell you the dirty ones stayed on the freshly made bed.  But the blankets were clean. So you see the need for a break. 

 Keep on posting and I'll keep on reading and even commenting.  I'm pretty sure in June I'll be right on track with  you. I'm sure about a week into my new abode, I'll be sweatin my a** off in that humidity.  Sweating and my big fat thighs are not going to mesh well.  I'm just sayin.   Here's hoping that I don't eat my way across country.  Maybe I'll sleep the whole way. 

And Ruth since you were the first one to guess the correct answer's last Monday, Michell B. thought that you should win.  So.......YOU WIN!!  I need your address and I'll get your giftie out to you asap!!!

How about some Country Loft??   The Sistas and I  met up with two of our other Sistas in  San Diego for one last trip of shopping and fun.  I'm going to miss the Country Loft.  There just aren't many shops like this one.  Not to mention the owner Sharon, Kathie her manager and the rest of the girls are sooo very nice every time you go in. 

 

Couldn't you just move right in there?

 

Well guess what? They now have a bed!!!  Maybe we could at least spend the night.

Awwww there are my Sistas!!   Have I told you how much I'm going to miss them???

 

 

Here's the two framed wool pic's I told you  about.  There done what could be better??  The front one is going to be so cute in my new yellow/red kitchen.

 

I'll be back tomorrow with part 2 of our day.  And  even some photos of the other  two  Sistas.  It was good to see them too.  I couldn't leave without saying bye to them.

Termites and cookies.

Things are moving right along over here.  We're on countdown mode. 10 more days until packing day.  I still can't believe that.  I remember wondering if this house would even sell.  Now we're in the final stretch.

Tuesday it looked like a scene right out of the movie Mr. Mom around here.  I had the furnace guy, the gardener, the termite guys, the painter guy, and who ever else might have roamed inside.  Remember that new furnace being installed? Well the guy had to come back because of course the first one he installed had a defective board in it.   Tuesday that was fixed, but while the guy was way up there in the attic, all of my smoke alarms began to go off.  Now I was doing some baking but I never saw fire!!!  No smoke.........so I ran to the bedroom and yelled up to Alex.  Nothing, no answer, I was YELLING,  I ran outside where the other guys were working on the house and no one but me was noticing that maybe, just maybe I should call the big red truck.  You know the one that's full of FIREMEN??  I ran back to the bedroom and  decided ok I need to go up this ladder and hope that Alex is not lying there DEAD.  I just knew he was. The smoke alarms were beyond loud.  There were at least six of them going off all at once.   As I was going up and yelling his name, he crawls out.  I say, are you alright????   He says,  Oh I told Dennis that all the alarms would go off because the oil is burning off the new furnace the first time you turn it on.  Well.............Mr. hunka did not tell me that little tidbit.  Later that night I tell hunka and he says, yea he did mention something like that to me.    I'm just glad Alex is still with us. But I really did wanna call that red fire truck.  

Moving right along to the termite work.  They drag this big tube in that room and heat it up.  140 to 160 degrees for two hours.   And whoop no more termites.  Nothing is living in that room anymore. 

 

They covered the dining room glass widows/doors with a heavy canvas so it wouldn't bust.  To that I said thank you.   lol   Don't need to replace glass.  Gotta love that it's red. 

While I was stuck at home all day I decided to bake. What else is a girl to do?? I couldn't sew because that stuff is all boxed up.  Not to mention I had tons of margarine/butter and white/butterscotch/and chocolate chips to use up. So let's bake some cookies.   The worker guys were smelling them.  They kept asking.......are you baking???     I wanted to say , yes get back to work and then I'll give you some cookies.  lol

 

How about some white chocolate chippers with pecans......

 

Perhaps some white chocolate/butterscotch/ and cranberries????

Remember my flag cutting table that hunka and I made??  It had to be dismantled for the move so I took a few pics to show you. I love my table.  Me and the sistas have sure used this while making alot of projects. 

 

This quilt is off to my high school friend that has breast cancer.  I hope it cheers her up a little bit and comforts her.   I love this quilt and hopes she does too.

 

I followed this guy down the road the other day. I'm feeling his pain.   Wonder how many loads he's moved so far??

Right where we left of, we're still in the "bedroom" having our strawberry shortcake.

 

Look at her trying to hold that bowl with her feet.  She was a monkey in a former life.  JUST KIDDING!! No hate mail. Can you see her polka dotted sheets? She bought those new for the occasion.

Yummy strawberry shortcake.

 

Time for a full day of sewing!! And sew we did.  All day and night long.  WE got so much done.

 

Debbie and I were making this quilt.  I posted the finished photo on my blog awhile back. I saw it at Kris' shop. Debbie her employee made it and I fell in love with it.  Nancy had already made one so she did a string quilt.

Here's a couple of her string blocks. She got almost the whole thing finished.

 

Here's the one I made a couple years ago. We used 4 1/2 inch squares of muslin as the base then you just sew strips of different sizes to the block.  Very easy.

 

How cute is this? Hunka tool bag and mini me has one too. 

 

The girls took a little trip to the goodwill pile and took what they wanted.  The stuff was everywhere.  Old quilts, dolls, decorating stuff, patterns, kits, and on and on. There cars were loaded when they left.  And guess what? I have new piles for them.

Did ya hear??   There was a pajama party at the Cottage last Friday. Of course we didn't announce it before hand this time so you know who wouldn't EGG OUR CARS!!!    We had so much fun as usual.  I wanted to host our annual get together before...............I leave.  I have to say that quietly because two gals I know do not like to hear me say that. Did I tell you we had so much fun?? Well we did.   We ate until we couldn't eat anymore, and we sewed until we couldn't sew anymore, and we laughed..................well we can always laugh some more.

I see three tini's and one person. And she's smiling a big old smile!!!   I'm thinking she likes Pomegranate Martini's.  Did you know you can buy these already mixed with the "good stuff"? 

 

Say CHEESE!!!!!

 

I think we're ready to open up gifties!!!  WOOHOOOO 

 

Look what Deb made for us.  Can you see the sad face? She said it's because I am leaving them.  Sure make me feel bad. 

 

I think there happy with all the loot we got.  Looks like a birthday party doesn't it?

I'm not even sure what she is doing!!!!  All I can tell you is that she did drink those THREE tini's.  

 

This is one of the nice gifts Nancy gave us.  A Longaberger basket with a little jewelry pouch inside.  We just loved it!!  We oohed and ahhhed alot over this one.  Very very cute.

There's my sad bunny.   I mean that in a good way of course.  And love the chicken tea light holder,  and Nancy gave us the green project boxes.   Very cool.Now they come in colors I guess.

 

LOVE LOVE LOVE the pink thread caddy that No Blog gave us.  It's the neatest thing.  And there's my cute little Longaberger basket too.  You did good Nancy!!!  

We had all these big plans for crafts on Friday night but after tini's and eating, we decided to blow up our beds and hang out in our jammies. 

Not sure what Miss Madeline was doing to my bed. Maybe she is mad that she wasn't invited to the party.

While we were pajama partying, Boo was off volunteering at an Alzheimer's event in Indiana in honor of his late Grandma.  He did this last year right after she passed away.  And again this year. Well this year Grandma was looking down over him and I think she sent a little miss his way........................

Miss Indiana to be exact!   He lunched with her and then found out......she's ENGAGED!!!!   I'm hoping there is still time to sway her over to his side.  Wouldn't she make the cutest grandkids??  I'm just.........sayin!!!!!!!!!  Do you see those dimples??

LOSER MONDAY CANCELLED!!!!

Ok not really, but it should be.  I've lost it big time over here.  I'm not worthy of being your leader.  Yes of course I'm laughing.  While eating a donut.  Well if your gonna blow it, why not eat a donut and celebrate????  

Here's why I am a loser this week.  I hosted our annual Sistas pajama party again.  No it's not our last one because I will be hosting it from Missouri next.  But just saying the words pajama party and loser Monday in the same sentence just doesn't work.  Here I am praying to the donut heavens.  Chocolate, cake, AND powdered.........what could be better??  Ahhhh and the aroma they give off was speaking to me. 

 

Debbie brought those lemon blueberry muffins, those are not mine. Nor did I eat any of them.  But.........someone did.  I'm just sayin.   She stopped at Costco to get our Chinese chicken salad for dinner and they were giving away samples.  Somehow a 12 pack jumped into her cart. 

 

Then of course we HAD to have Cheryl's wonderful cheese ball recipe.  It is a standard at every Sista event.  Oh and do you see those darn donuts back there? I'm telling you, they were calling me!!! I heard it in my head. I DID!!!

 

If I'm going down the girls are going with me!!!   Those tiny little things Nancy is eating are my sausage wontons.  All I can say is...........COME TO MOMMA!!!!!   Once you have one you are hooked.  If you really, really want the recipe I'll share it.  That is if your jumping off the wagon too.  lol

 

Seriously though girls, I hope someone, anyone out there is doing better than me.  I feel like I've failed all of you.  But in a happy sorta way.  I'm not giving in though, once this move is all  over I'm getting back on track. So you'll just have to be patient with me.  At least I'm an honest cheater right??  Is that even right to put both words in one sentence?? honest and cheater????   lolol Only on my blog it is. 

Peggy emailed me and said she lost 3 pounds and I told her I FOUND IT!!!  Wooohooo for you Peggy. Good work.  I'm sorry I've not gotten around to all the blogs.  I just can't seem to find enough time right now to blog surf.  I jump around from time to time and will get back out there soon.  So don't give up on me.  I've got alot of pj party photos I'll be sharing this week and more fabric to post for sale.  Alot of fabric!!!  

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPRINKLE POOH!!!

Today is Miss Sprinkles birthday.  Sure we celebrated the other day but I'm sure she's celebrating again today. A girls gotta carry out the festivities for the month doesn't she?  We just helped her get the party started.  It's up to her to carry it on!!

Awww look how happy she is. Or is she drunk?? Either way she's happy!! Right?? I'm just sayin.

Here's the three Sistas once again.  Same place, same theme....PARTYING!!!  What we do best!!  And looky there we all wore our St. Paddy's green too. We were knocking out two holidays in one meal. St. Patrick's Day and Sprinkles birthday.  Nancy and I shopped at the same place for our green sweaters too by the way. lolol 

 

Nancy and I had Pomegranate martinis and Deb had some something pear flavored.  Maybe a mojito?? Was that it Deb?? Anyhoo it tasted smashing!! 

 

OMG!!!!  Does she look surprised or what??   Her glass is empty sooooo she could be just zoning......  But........you have to take a peek at the lady behind Deb.  This gal was having a bad day. She did not like the camera taking stuff going on at our table. 

 

LMAO!!!!!  Can you see that gal behind Deb???    We're getting the "look" again.

 

Deb didn't want a cake because of that strict diet she's on but we had to have a little sum sum for her.  Is she dozing there or have we lost her for the night??    Hellooo Deb, blow!!!  Candle,  cake, hellooooo!!!!

 

Look Nancy is singing............I think.  Shhhh keep it down our booth mates over there are gonna be a wee little bit upset with you. 

 

Well of course we had dessert too.  Our diets are very strict as well. You heard me right, strict diets.

Awww look at the cupcake plate.   Sorry no cake on that plate because again  she is on a strict diet.  Well not so strict.  Oh and looky there Deb has a new booth partner there behind her.    This gal was not happy.  Even the poor waitress even said this gal was being nasty to her. 

 

Here's the birthday girl showing her gifts.  She has loved this bag forever as it hangs in my sewing room.  I had to give it up as much as I love it.   I'd give anything to my Sistas and they know it.  Enjoy!

 

Remember this quilt I made and did kits for?? It was for Deb's birthday but I couldn't say.  I think she liked it. Or she's about to break out into "Let me entertain you"  !!  Then you know what happens next?? 

 

Now here's the slice O cake we should have all had.  Nancy and I went together and started a Pandora bracelet for Deb. We got her a few charms and the bracelet.  Now guess what she'll be getting from us for holidays?

 

Go on over and wish my sista a happy day would ya!!!!!

I got this in my fortune cookie and the end of our meal, but being the kind of friend I am I gifted it to the birthday girl.  Because let's be real here girls, I DID NOT want a pleasant surprise that night if you get my drift.  Oh and I think you do.   And I'm not asking how it worked out for Deb.  No I am not!!!   But if I know that hubby of hers..................I'm just sayin. 

 

We love you Deb.  And Nancy and I hope we made your day a special one. 

While we're on the subject of birthdays, I'd like to say thank you for all the nice "happy birthdays" for Jack my father in law.  We went to AZ and celebrated with him.  He just recently moved into a group home and left his apartment.  He is very happy in his new place as this is where my mother in law was last year. He knows the care takers and really likes them. 

 

One last thing today.  My friend Anne is trying to do some housecleaning and has several bundles of fabric for sale.  Good prices too I might add. So if your in need of a deal run on over and grab yourself some.  She'll be happy and so will you.  Now go!!!

It's that time again ladies

 

When I say challenge I mean challenge.  I have really fallen off that wagon and hit rock bottom.  Dieting...............oh lordy,  what happened??  Well I'm not giving up but I am going to get back on track right now.  Stress does not let you diet well.  It actually makes me eat like a hog outta control.  lolol  Are you getting a mental picture of that one?? Not pretty at all.  But I'm here to say I'm getting back in control tomorrow.  YESSSS tomorrow.  It's too late for today.  Hey at least I'm honest. No matter what you've heard out there.  I'm just sayin.  I know several of you are just stayin where you are weight wise. And that's better than gaining I'd say.  Summer is coming and I don't wanna be strutting around in a tent so I've got to get going.  I just don't look good in green canvas.

We had another great turn out tonight on blog posts from all of you.  I see that we've lost a few so I'll be updating that sidebar before next week. If your name is missing and you still want to be in just let me know.  But you need to update your blog at least every once in a while ok??  Cause I do check each one every week.  Oh yea I read them all. 

Here's what I should be eating more of. Fruit.  I really do like fruit and it's good for you. Have you ever been to the grocery store when they are cutting fruit up to make those bowls they sell? OMG it smells heavenly.  Hunka eats a boat load of it every morning.  I swear he's starting to smell like a fruit salad.  That man fixes up the biggest plate of fruit you've ever seen.  I have to say the banana is my favorite piece of fruit.  I'm just sayin.   Love me some bananas.  What's your favorite?  How about we post recipes next week that have fruit in them. I'm up for some good muffin recipes.  I know someone out there had a muffin recipe posted tonight. And it looked good. See if you can find it.  While your out there I also found a good taco soup recipe on someone's blog.  YUMMY!!!  Ok can you tell I'm hungry again??  I told you. Maybe I'm still putting on my winter coat??  And I don't mean the kind of coat you buy at Macy's. 

 

More important than our LOSER club it that one of our LOSER'S is a WINNER.  Jen has been trying to quit smoking and is doing a great job.  I want her to know that we're all so proud of her.  Keep it up Jen.  It's a great thing to do. Hang in there and if you've got to eat I say EAT UP!!!

A few days ago I told you that  Deb and I were headed to Ikea to do a little shopping. And shopping we did.  We had my truck packed as far as we could get it.  First stop was the bedroom dept. We were both on the hunt for this yellow linen cabinet.  We were frantically looking because we just knew they had sold out.  Or there was ONE left and we were going to have to have a smack down right in the middle of the store.  And we were prepared for the worst.

Look, she's just tempting me!!!!   Either that or she's auditioning for some low budget movie.  Yes I said that!! 

 

I found two dressers that hunka and I are going back for.  We will need dressers if and when we move.  I love this and I'm into yellow.   Red and yellow are going to be my decorating colors of choice.

 

Love this blue one too.  Don't know who that gal was but she walked in our bedroom while we were photographing.   As if!!

 

Oh look at her!!  She's guarding it!!   But yep they had two.  We both got one.  It has glass doors and the two drawers. We want it to hold quilts.  LOVE IT!! I was sorta hoping for a smack down myself.  Maybe later.

 

Since it is Loser Monday we took these photos for you to enjoy.  But oh no we were not standing on them.  Just modeling!! 

 

I chose mine in RED.  And uhhh no we didn't buy one.   We kindly put them back.

 

We both loved these shades.  So of course they came home with us.  Much better than an old bathroom scale.  See my new crystal beaded hanging light I got too there in the background??  

 

Look again she's smiling!!   Because she also found the bookcase she wanted and it was  a great deal and all put together. Usually Ikea stuff comes in flat boxes and it's up to your lovely hubby to do this chore for you with a smile on his wonderful face.  All in all it was a great shopping day. But when aren't they wonderful? 

 

Tomorrow evening is going to be another fun filled time for the three Sistas.  Just wait and see.  Hmmmmmmmm shall we wear green???   I'm going to be doing some pinching if there not wearing the color of the day.  They've been warned.

What a great dinner it was.

Me and the Sistas met at my house then headed out for a great dinner at P.F. Chang. My new favorite place.  We had the best time.  It's been way toooo long since we all three were able to get together.  Of course there was lots of gift exchanging going on as usual.  Cause that's how we roll!!!!!   Kris I said that for you.

Excuse me Nancy but I think that might be my gift your about to rip into. She gave it to me then she took it away.   I'm just sayin................could have been due to that lemon drop martini she sucked down. 

 

All the employees kept coming up to us asking if they could take a photo of us.  WELL DUH!!!!!!!!!!  Stupid question.    Do we look like we're ready for a close up?????  Ummm yea!!!

 

Can you stand it??????Don't be jealous now.  Nancy bestowed upon us these wonderful new Foster Grants.   Alright she probably picked them up at the 99 cent store but we can dream cant we???   And do tell.............we look pretty damn good!!!  OH check out our cute little bags Nancy made us.  WE LOVE THEM!!

 

Ok so we hadn't even finished our martini's yet.  HONEST.  Poor Nancy we are squishing her!!!  Bet she wishes she would have brought her Foster Grants too.

 

I felt sorry for Nancy so I let her borrow my Fosters and check out her Annie that Deb gave her. We both got one. LOVE IT!!!  The manage asked us what we were celebrating and we said VALENTINE'S DAY!!!    We told her we'd be back in June to celebrate Easter. Because again.........that's how we roll ...................KRIS..

 

Hot N Sour or was it Spicy? soup anyone?? It was so freakin  HOT my nose was running.  But good.

I've got to take photos of my loot from Nancy and I'll show it tomorrow.  Or on my Mon. post.  WE got some great stuff I tell ya!!!!!  WE were already talking about what we're doing for Easter.  Thank goodness for all those holidays!!   Cause we are three celebrating fools.
