Red Geranium Cottage

Still Visiting.

It's been a long week and it's only Tuesday.  The last part of last week we were trying to figure out what was wrong with my brother in law. Thanks for all the prayers for Nick. I've never felt so sorry for him like I did this past week. He was in some awful pain and we had no idea what it was from.  Turned out to be a big kidney stone that he could not pass. So he had surgery to remove it which in turn caused even more pain for him.  He's doing well now and the whole family plus my Boo are in Florida on a much needed vacation.  

I have to show you these dishes Nancy and I found when she was here.  I of course bought the RED ones.  We have a store here in Missouri called Gordman's.  They were cheap, cheap, cheap.  

We stopped at a fruit/vegetable stand.  Nancy had to get a peach. I guess they don't have them in Ca.  :)

After more shopping we headed home for some sewing.  

I made a few pillow cases.  I love the Sew Cherry fabric by Lori Holt. I made the two with Cherry's for my king sized pillows.  

While we were sewing this giant thing landed on the sliding doors.  It was the biggest moth I have ever seen.  It stayed there all night long. 

Here's some of the things we made while Nancy was visiting. The three little quilts that are alike are for me, Beth and Nancy.  I did the blocks and Nancy did the mitered corners. We made a lot of other tops too but not sure if I got a picture of them.

Another shopping break. This is a cute shop called Three French Hens.  It's real close to my house so we ran down there so I could show Nancy. I love this shop.

Let's go inside. I'd love to have these doors on my house.

Time to go back to sewing again. How about a snack first??  We had to have a snack table. That was a must.

I made this from Elizabeth of Late Bloomer's pattern.  I still need to add the borders. 

Loved this so I had to make one.  Nancy made one too.  It's a mini.  Really mini. Those were some small triangles.  

We made this,  three of them.  This is a kit on the website.  It's so fast and easy to make.  

She's digging for some fabric so we can make this cute little thing from the new Primitive magazine. 

I think she's finding something good.  Maybe I could fold the fabric then it would be easier?   Oh why do that? She's enjoying the search.  

This is what we made.  Beth your kit is on the way to you.  I still need to add borders to mine. I think Nancy has already added hers and done her stitching. Me, not so much.  But they are cute aren't they?  

The last two days have been so much cooler here thank goodness. I am so sick of the heat.  Does this mean maybe Fall is coming soon??  Please tell me yes.  Humor me.  

Next, I'll show you what I got at the antique shop when we went antiquing.  Got some good things.

There is a theme going on..........

 I want to show you hunka's newest creation. He made this shelf drawer thingy.  Not sure what to call it. One of my customers asked if he could make it and dang it now I don't know who asked.  lol Story of my life.  

Isn't it cute?  I love it. He does such nice work.

I love February and I love red.  They go hand in hand don't they?  My oldest son was born in Feb.  Feb 5th 1980.  How can that be? Seems like only yesterday. I love red so much that when I come back I'll do doing a Valentine give away!!!  So come on back.

Today was the day.  I was so glad that Perry was free to meet with hunka and I. Last time our meeting was sorta fast too. But at least we got to see each other. Now we live close enough to visit.   And she promises to come see me.

Now.......if this was in Ca. we would all be running for our phone to call 911.  Here, I'm thinking they were burning some trash. 

 

Here we were at our hotel in OK.  I have to tell you it was NOT the cleanest place.  But we couldn't find one that would take us with the dog. And I've gotta say she is MUCH MUCH cleaner than that nasty floor. They obviously have no rules here.   Madeline and Annie really wanna go.

 

Annie likes this much better.  Not on that disgusting floor.  And guess who Madeline is waiting for again??  Yep hunka went out the door.  At least Annie is looking at me.

 

Annie can't make up her mind and Madeline just wants her daddy.

 

Ok so he's back and she's ready for bed.  Or her and Annie are playing hide and seek.

 

Somebody has had a long, long, long day.  Are you digging that ugly, nasty comforter. We told Madeline it's time to get up. Perry is waiting!!!

 

There she is!!!  Purple hair and all. It was so good to see her.  We had the best time visiting. Time went way too fast.

 

Back on the road again.  Almost to Missouri.  Getting closer.  WOOHOOO!!!

 

Getting closer. See all those beautiful green trees?  I love them.  It's going to be sooo pretty when the leaves change color in the fall. 

 

YIPPPEEEE!!!!!!  I could have ran across the state line but with my luck I would have fallen down and broke my leg.  Therefore, never making it to Missouri.  So I opted to ride in the car. 

 

Ahhhh perfect temp.  Just for our arrival.

 

At that point we had driven over 1500 miles. Ended up doing over 1800 and did not stop at ONE quilt shop.  Only because we had NO ROOM.  Oh not to mention there were probably 40 boxes of fabric in a huge truck rolling my way. 

 

Time to check into our last hotel for awhile. When we got into Missouri we found out that all the papers had been filed, the funds were funded but............are you ready???????????  Somehow someone LOST OUR MONEY.  Oh yes, it was funded and transferred but where, no one knew.  So we went to bed Thursday night not knowing if we would get into our new house on Friday.  Which means another night in a hotel.  What else could honestly happen to us?? 

Going up!!!!!

Have you seen the MOON?

Oh lordy girls it's a full one out there. Could be why I didn't sleep well last night. I was still awake at 3a.m.  I'm not kidding you.  I flipped and I flopped then I got up and took a sleeping pill.  Enough is enough.  Didn't know there was a full moon lurking until I just looked outside.  WHOA!!!!  That and a time change.....I'm doomed!!

Ok I wanna be a kid again.  Ok not really. Check out this place.  Hubby and I went to Costco  (now the $500 dollar store) on a spending spree the other day and I saw this.     When I was a kid I didn't have  anything that came close to this. Don't you love those little flowers and the mailbox.  What's up with that basketball hoop though?? NO BOYS ALLOWED.

And for the boys................OMG wanna take a ride??    What boy wouldn'tlove this?  I know mine would have. Grandkids, I'm telling you I need a few.  

 

"Someone" needs to read a little quicker.  He's lacking in the obedience training.  She must be 5 ft tall when standing.   lololol!!!!! 

 

I think hunka gave up and Madeline won.

Oh before I forget..........I'm the one on the far right with stilts for legs.  and that hair!!!!  Did I have the hair. We all did actually.  You'd never catch me wearing stripes going that direction today!! 

 

Not much to share tonight, I've been sucked in and I do mean sucked in to Facebook.  I'm an addict.  Just what I needed something else to keep me on this computer.  It is fun though I gotta admit.  So if you don't hear from me that's where I'll be.  Thanks Kris!! And Miss Cucaroo has been hiding over there too but I FOUND her!!  By the way.............she's got a birthday coming!!!  PARTY TIME!!!!   Ok really, I've got no more to share.  But I could talk for hours if you want.   I'm just sayin!!
