While I'm in the blogging mood I thought I'd go for another one. You know when the mood hits, go with it.
We have so many Hostas here. They grow crazy. We never had them in Ca. nor did I know what they were. They must have become popular once I moved away. But I love htem and you can seperate them and share. I gave Wilster a bunchl last year and his are doing good too.
On Mother's Day Wilster made lunch for me and then he thought he would lke the art fair going on at a local park. I had never been to this park either. Matter of fact, I never knew it was there and I drive by all the time going to my sisters. It's a pretty neat place. Called Sculpture Park. Hence the sculptures everywhere. And no I have no clue who these people are.
Love this giant eyeball!!
Oh how I would have loved to bought these. But I would need to mortgage off the house. The Amish were making them at the Art Fair. Let's just say, not cheap.
There's the man of the hour!! And no he's not drinking. He was holding it for Hunka. That's what they all say right?
Some neat pictures.
Love this.
Love my chair that Hunka made years ago.
You should smell this plant. It's Rosemary and smells so good. My sister and I both got one at Home Depot when they first put plants out.
I wish these would have done better. I think the rain damaged them. The whole plant fell over. And it's a huge plant. Next year I'm going to tie it up so I can get lots of blooms.
This is one of my great high school friends. We have known each other since we were 4 and 5. Jeanne and her four sisters and one brother grew up across the street from us. We have remained very close all these years. I love my high school friends and have kept in touch with so many. Plus with FB I've reconnected with lots of them. Being back here in St. Louis is nice because we can all get together often.
More Hostas. These are right outside my sewing room. And the roses were there when we moved in. We hired a guy to power wash our house when we moved in and he used bleach. Well bleach and roses do not mix. But they came back good as new.
Hunka's been working hard on the pond area. He loves his pond and fish. He spends hours out there taking care of it. His fish follow him around when he has food in his hands. Just Madeline does. It's really funny. But now he's had three snakes out there. I think he's finally killed them all.
I love when everything is all grown up and green. It's like no one is out there but us. I could sit and listen to the waterfall all day long. Until the humidity takes over me and I start to suffocate. Then I slam the door closed and enjoy the hum of the a/c.
I have to show you what Boo made me for Mother's Day. He mailed it to me and we had a wee little problem. It fell apart. He soldered it together but in the shipping it fell apart. So he came to visit a week later and fixed it. I LOVE IT. If you click on it you can see teh Daisy Cottage Quilting sign. He knows how much I love old barns and RED. He burned the metal so the roof would look old and the sides of the barn too so it would look like old wood. I think it is the neatest thing.
Ok, that's it. More later.
Thanks for stopping by!!!! Don't forget to come back.

Hostaa grow great in my garden as well. I love how they just suddenly seem to be there after winter. Love the chicken art work and your chair planter. I'm so happy with how my red chair turned out. The red barn is adorable with the little sign too.
Our house is getting presser washed in a couple of weeks, I'm worried about some of my plants.

Those are some gorgeous odds 'n ends Ms. Red. How lucky you are to grow hostas -- I plant them and then the effin' rabbits eat them! I'm going to start watching Elmer Fudd to see if I can get his technique down!

I'm with Yvette. Everything is beautiful until you had to mention the snakes. They better be out of there by the end of July. I've only seen one snake in California. Ick I want Brian to make me a little red barn. That's very very cute.

I was so creeped out by the snake thing that I forgot to mention that maybe we can have a pizza party at your house and invite your high school friend Jeanne. If she doesn't like pizza there is the sushi pond out back. Does she like sushi?

All your flowers look so nice... and as far as the Peonies... the ones that fall over! Yeah, they do that! It's cause they just get too heavy. And then if it rains they get even heavier!
By the bye... I love the Amish boxes... bet they cost an arm/leg too! Sooo cool...
Boo did a good job on your little barn...
We had a Koi pond in Japan (I think that I told you this). Our land lord would come every couple of weeks and take out all the fish (putting them into a couple of water filled buckets) and then drain the pond and scrub the slim off the walls of the pond! Not my idear of fun... but who am I to say what people do/don't like? Tell Hunka that he is probably keeping the fishy's alive if he is killing the snakes... cause they probably want to eat them!
Take care.... keep cool!

Your hostas are pretty. Lots grow here too. I have a bunch. Try a blue angel... they get huge! The pink flowers you show that drooped over are a peony bush. When that plant starts to grow next spring, get a support ring for it that you can pick up at home depot or something like that, and put it over it, and it will grow right up through it and it holds it up, blooms and all :o)
