Here goes another post from me. I do think Im on a roll now. Of course I'm not sleeping worth a damn. Last night I tossed and turned and looked at the clock......4a.m. I had not yet went to sleep. Maybe that full moon out there had something to do with all that. Because today I must say I'm feeling better. I have that sparkle in my eyes again. Hunka can always tell when the sparkle is gone and when it reappears. When it's gone he takes cover. So he's always happy to see it make a appearance. Could be the new haircut I got today. Just sayin.
I'm gonna give you a little quilt show if you don't mind. These are a few as I was unpacking them. I pulled them aside and snapped for ya. This one was hand quilted by my mom several years ago.I made the top and she quilted. Most of these I think were made samples for my store.
I love this one. It's so happy!! It was fun to make.
I remembered when I placed the order for this fabric line.My sales reps thought I had lost my mind. My store was a primitve/reproduction fabric kind of store. But I knew what I wanted to do with it and sold every last piece on those bolts. This was the sample I kitted and sold them all.
I loved the back fabric too.
I had a gal make this sample for me. I love this quilt.
This was a gift for me from a friend. It is wonderful.
I bought this kit my first time to Paducah Quilt Show. I love it. Still to this day it's one of my favorites.
The coloring on this photo is just not right. This was hand quilted too.
This was a gift from a very good friend of mine. It hung in my house in Ca. for years and years.
This one was made by the same friend.
I made this one from a Cheri pattern. Love it!!
Made this one years and years ago. Love those barns. I did this with a group of gals.
Love the backing fab.
It was perfect for this quilt.
Another one of Cheri's patterns.
You might have already seen this one. It was hangin in my bedroom in Ca.
Love my civil war pink/brown fabs. LOVE THEM!!!
I've saved the best for last. And believe me every word of this pertains to ME!!! So be nice!
READ it CAREFULLY!!!
Hope you enjoyed the show. There's more to come.

What a lovely little quilt show! And the last one had me chuckling!

LOL - I read your blog, each and every post, and love it! Imagine my surprise this morning when I read it and saw that your favorite quilt of the post was one of my patterns - Menopause! That pattern came as a result of one night's hot flashes, sitting up in the den at midnight just about buck naked fanning myself with a magazine as I tried to cool off - and thinking that I was just about to lose my mind. I marched mysef into my sewing room, and Menopause emerged a few hours later. I'm so glad you liked it enough to make it!!! Take care!

Thanks mam, that was well worth the price of admittion! I love the green on the border of the 2nd one... makes it all "pop".
Hmmmmm, why are you assuming....
we've seen the one in your bedroom??? To Funny....! LoL...
Your sure the last one wasn't in your bedroom? Tee Hee.... How does Hunka feel about that one? So does it hang over "Daisy" so no one mess's with you?
We had a Relief Society (a church gals get together yesterday...) 4-9 and got 2 quilts tied, one parcially quilted and top other quilt tops put together. These are all for donation for our church Humanitarian... nice to get some of it out of the sewing room!
Get some rest kid... you still have boxes to unpack... I'm assuming!

Terrific quilt show, thanks Sharon. Hmmm menopause, it sucks huh? Heatwaves in the middle of winter and every other season, loss of memory and so many other things......))

WOW, what amazing quilts. They are all so beautiful. I love the pink and brown one.
You need a museum or something to display them all :)

It looks as though you are settling into your new home well.
Thanks for the quilt show - I loved them all.
As for the falling over lark - don't you think you should take time out and go see the Doctor? The menopause doesn't make you do that I am sure.

Hi Sharon, It seems lately all I get to do is sign in and catch up on a few blogs. Love the quilt show and sorry about the falling you've done since the move. I can just hear the neighbors saying have you met the new neighbors, she'll put on a show if you watch for awhile. LOL Probably your body saying slow down...
So glad there is some sparkling coming back.
Keep Stitchen'

I absolutely love the very first quilt that's the neutrals with the stars! I have kind of a weakness for stars and this one is gorgeous. I also got a good laugh out of the menopause one at the end bz it's how I feel most days! I just got a call from my quilter and after NINE MONTHS she has my quilt and table toppers done!! I can hardly wait to pick them up later today. When I get the binding on I'll post them. Oh I also really like the cabin and flag quilt. I love Americana things. It's always so much fun visiting your blog!
Posted by: Cindy | July 08, 2009 at 11:25 AM
Hi Sharon, love your quilt show this morning. I really, really love the barn quilt. Do you happen to remember the pattern name or creator? I love barns. I hear you about the menopause. It was not pleasant to get through. That last little quilt is so cute, too. Well, I love all of them, so there. LOL I hope you have a good day. Winona
Posted by: Winona | July 08, 2009 at 11:27 AM
Great show, Sharon! Oh my - it's definitely the full moon - we used to put a sign on our counter at my business "warning-full moon today" - the customers loved it (and understood - lol) Glad you're feeling bright eyed again!
Cheers!

Super cute - where is the Sam with the flag in his pocket pulling the wagon? That should be in the quilt show.

Love the quilts and I'm sure you have tons more! How do you display them all? Do you hang them by the season or your house themes?
Also- I've been meaning to ask you- where do you shop for your primitive fabrics? Sure wish you had a quilt shop still- you'd have a faithful customer (ME) for sure! Glad your getting your sparkle back :O)

I love your quilts! You have so many. I have an idea that will help you sleep: take 3 kids to the pool, stay 5 hours, then come home, make dinner, put said kids in the tub, read stories, put same kids to bed. You'll be out like a light by 9:30. I guarantee it!
Posted by: Jana | July 09, 2009 at 06:52 AM
Love 'em all. My favorites are the chicken quilt and the pink and brown snowball.

Thanks for the beautiful quilt show.
I Love them all; it would be hard to pick a favorite, although if you're game I'd love a couple of those patterns.
Posted by: JAM | July 09, 2009 at 09:28 AM
Thanks for sharing. Looks like a little Country Threads and maybe some Little Quilts in there from a while back. What fun to look over the quilts made over the years and remember things about them. There is a great book called "Love, Loss, and What I Wore" by Ilene Beckerman that reviews life's events with clothing memories. Fabric and quilts are like that too. Everytime I look at an older one it brings back lots of memories, big and small. Getting all these quilts out of their boxes has to be a reward for all the unbacking.

Love the quilts. They are all fun to see. The last one is my fav. We have to embrace our situations. Fighting them doesn't work. So yes! I'm getting old and I'm in menopause!!! And I'm ok with it. Bring it on baby.
