A look back at my new friends and some old for 2008!!
If you don't mind I'll show you some gifties I got for Christmas. Even if you do mind I'm going to show them. LOL You knew I would say that didn't you? So here goes.
Oh wait!!! There's Miss Madeline!!! We call her Marla now. We went to see the movie Marley & Me. OMG can I just tell you, if you are a dog lover and you've lost a pet ever, be warned....this is one sad movie. Now I don't want to spoil it for you and maybe you've red the book......but I thought Hunka was going to have a stroke. He couldn't even look at the screen for the last ten minutes of the movie. I've never seen him that upset before. Even when we got to the car he was still very upset. Dont' get me wrong,it was a funny movie in the beginning for sure. It's a great movie and I'd see it again but only in the privacy of my own home. So......our Madeline is now called Madeline Marla Yeager. LOL!!! And can I just say I wanna look like Jennifer Anniston. Do you think that can happen?? In this lifetime?? Ok I didn't think so. Just thought I'd inquire within.
Now back to the gifties.
Carole sent me a candle and the tea light holder along with this amazing maple spread. OMG I have been baking hot rolls just to put this spread on. When the rolls are hot...........................COME TO MOMMA!!!! I am in heaven. And so is Hunka. He loves him some maple on anything.
Ok this is a gift to myself. WELL you gotta gift yourself every now and then. LOL The piggy you know is from Miss Polka Dot but that cake stand........Is that not the cutest?? Check out those feet. They are in the front and the back. I just love it!!! OINK OINK.
I sure thought I put these gifts on already but I can't find where. So your going to see it again.
Donna sent me some of her great cards she makes and sells. And those napkins. LOL Omg she must really know me. I'll show you a close up. This was a thank you for doing the polka dot swap. Thank you Donna!!
Isn't this funny? So......has anyone seem them?? If so I bet Hunka would pay you a hefty sum to send my hormones back to me. A fabric bundle might even be in it for you. I"m just sayin.
May Britt sent me this adorable little stitchery pattern. I just love him.She and I have been talking about what we put behind our stitchery projects so we decided to swap what we use. She uses some pretty neat stuff. I love it. Just wish I could find it here.
Do ya see my Mary E. gifts from Nanna?? She sent me the cutest daily calendar of Mary. I love those. I just might be sharing with you everyday for 365 days. You can thank Miss Nanna!!! And she made me that cute little bag. The pattern was floating around blogland recently. I still haven't made one but I did print off the pattern. And that cute ornie. Thanks Nanna!!!!! I know there is a pink quilt there mixed among the Christmas stuff but...Valentines day is coming you know. Gotta get ready.
Here's my Secret Santa gift from Donna's swap. Anne was my secret santa and she sent me this table runner, some candy, a needle keep, a heart pincushion. Thank you so much! And thank you Donna for hosting again.
Carol sent me this adorable Santa towel, the cute bowls and a Florida Brighton bracelet.
I wish my photo was better. But I think you can see that pink flamingo. That's all you need to see when you think of Florida. Thank you Carol!
Ok so here's a photo that needs some explaining. Yep that's Marla, uh Madeline under there. You see Perry and Hunka had this bet going on about what else.........football. Remember when we saw her back on our road trip? Well we thought hunka should die his hair purple if he lost the bet but that wasn't going to happen. So she sent him this shirt. Her team of course won. OKLAHOMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I would sing the rest but I don't know the words. Maybe Perry could sing the tune for us. Anyhoo Mizzou lost and lost big time. Nothing new there. Oh but they did win last night. Just barely though. So Perry...... hunka has the shirt on. Well sorta. And he has his Mizzou hat there on his back for.....uh good luck??? I'm not sure what Marla is doing?? Maybe she's the mascot??
Here was THE bet! Perry looks like she is gonna kick his.......
I also got great gifties from my wonderful boys. Next post I'll share those with you.
Tomorrow is New Years Eve. When did 2008 go flying by?? And man did it ever fly by. Is that because we are getting older? Don't you remember when time moved so very slow? Because we were much younger then. I really want to say that I have enjoyed so much meeting all the bloggers I have met this year. I've made some great friendships along the way. You all are just the best ever. Your always there to cheer me up, give me advise, send a little something to just make my day, or just to talk if I need to. For that I thank all of you. I hope to meet many more of you in 2009. So beware I could be in YOUR neighborhood. But this year I was lucky enough to spend time with and meet Perry, Carol, Anna and her peeps. In Chicago I met Tara, and Louise along with Anna's peeps. At quilt market I got to meet Karen and her friend, I met Anne and Anne and Kimberly, and Rosie, Stefanie and Cara. Also met Glenna who I adore. I met Deb and Tammy back in January who quickly became two of MY peeps along with her friend Janine. Of course I already knew Pam, but I got to meet her best friend Elizabeth. I saw Reneefrom Liberty Star from my quilt shop days, I sure hope I didn't leave anyone out. I even got to teach a class at my friends Kris'store. Then ran into her on an airplane heading for quilt market. She tried to out do us in drink coupons. OH no she DIN'T! But I couldn't go on without my friends that are right here, Deb, Nancy , Cheryl, Tammy and Janine. . Cheryl and I have been friends for years and years and will always be good friends no matter what. I almost forgot...... I met baby Luke too.....Nancy and I have known each other for years because of my quilts shop. Then there is Deb, who I have so many things in common with, who knew? She and I will be the best of buds for ever and ever!!!! Jan. last year is when I had the bloggers party at my house after Road. That is where I met Tammy, Beth, Janine, Deb, and Carol flew in from Florida. I cant believe that was a year ago. Isn't this like Romper Room? Romper Bomper Boo...... I see Deb, and Cara and there's Tammy over there, along with Cheryl and who is that I see??? Oh it's Elizabeth along with Rosie. ROFLOL!!!! You know you watched that show!!! Don't' be acting like your all young.
EDIT!! My FRIEND Suzzanne reminded me that she too is my FRIEND and I forgot her. How could I have forgotten her. Well she's not a NEW friend because even though she doesnt remember I used to travel all the way up the freeway to see her and her wonderful shop. But you are my FRIEND. LOL!! And I've been enjoying making samples for her great shop this year. Here's to many more samples. Sorry I dont have a photo but you can sure go over to her blog and see her cute little face. Go say hi so she'll know I added her to my list. LOL!!!
I look likea big hog in this photo. Oh wait I AM big hog!!!! LOLOL!!
I can't wait to see how I stumble upon in 2009!! BEWARE I will be traveling to a city near you!!! Or better yet...........moving there!!! LOL!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!

OMG ROMPER ROOM!!!!! I totally forgot about that show! I used to hope everyday that she would see me with those big magic glasses and I waited and waited but nope never heard my name...how sad is that? But now finally here tonight I get my wave from romper room...who would've guessed lol!!!
You're a great friend Sharon and I am sooo glad you had that "fateful" get together last January...wow a whole year ago! Time goes too fast!! I look forward to many more girl's day outs with you while you're here and retreats after you move :) You got some amazing and well deserved gifts there, very fun!!!

Great review of your year in friends, lol. BUT, I am NOT HAPPY with the picture of Hunka. He has to WEAR that shirt and I HAVE TO SEE HIS FACE!!! That was the bet!! No hiding behind or on top of Marla, lol. So tell Hunka to quit whining and pay up, lol. Happy New Year and Go Sooners!!!!

Loved ready the post and as I was reading all the names I kept thinking there was a slight ring to it but didn't place it until you mentioned Romper Room! Ah yes, I remember all too well...couldn't you just see it nowadays....I mean common names were always announced but what about Olive, Trigg, Shakizi, to name a few?

What a terrific post Ms. Sharon (like Romper Room, only wasn't it Ms. Nancy) your 2008 has been full of meet and greets with bloggers. I hope to meet more in 2009 because it sure is fun. I'm so glad I got to meet you - your one special sister and I mean that in a good way.
Lordy saw that movie also - cried like a freakin baby - everyone in my family was pretty quiet after seeing it - I know I heard a few sniffles in the theater.
Happy New Year Sweet Friend

Wishing you a marvelous new year. To both you and Hunka.
Big hugs.

You need a Magic Mirror! On Romper Room? Wasn't it called the Magic Mirror?? As a kid I hated Romper Room. The woman never called out my name!
On another note, looks like you had a great 2008 and 2009 should be a good one!
Happy New Year!

I look forward to spending another blogging year with you! I can't wait to see what adventures you take us on!
Didn't you go to Hawaii this year and meet Lisa Boyer? You said something about being taller than her, and I realized that I'm taller than most of the quilters I know, too! The only thing is is that I'm not that tall!!
Have a great year!
