New specs and a new swap
Today I started off by going to the Optometrist. First I dropped my glasses flat on the concrete in Vegas and scratched both lenses. Then while sewing yesterday and talking with Boo on the phone, out popped my lens. OMG I could not see to sew any longer. I remembered that I had bought this pair of over the counters. Man oh man they were not strong enough. But they were very stylish I might add. But looks aren't everything right?? LOL!!!!!!!!! I've been meaning to go for my eye test and keep putting it off. This got my butt moving and quick. The sewing must go on!! I got my new eye test and my new prescription. One week I'll have new glases. Oh yes I'll be modeling them right here for YOU!!
First off I'm gonna show you what i've been working on. I did alot of sewing this weekend. I've got so many unfinished projects in the sewing castle. It feels good to dig them out and complete. Most are almost finished but I just tucked them away. Of course while in there I have new things staring at me that I just can't resist so I start. I love this wallhanging. I'd make it bigger but I ran out of fabric. So a table quilt it'll be.
And here's my faithful little helper. It was so hot outside she couldnt stand it. She's saying, could you stand 110 degree heat if you were wearing a fur coat???? I think not!
Remember this?? I made the stitchery awhile ago. I'm gonna hand quilt it with a primitive stitch then make a pillow I think. Again you'll have to click on the photo to see all of this. I just can't get it to show up.
Ok, this quilt was done the same way as the red/white one but it just lost the design so I made them into circles. I like it better this way. For some reason 30's quilts don't photograph well for me.
Nancy No Blog looky what I found!!!!! PORCH SWING fabrics. Since someone NEVER sent yours back to you, I've got you covered!!! Everything happens for a reason remember??? She can just keep it. Obviously she needs it more than you. I think I have enough for both of us. How much do you need? LOL!! Maybe we could get together and make a few king size quilts.

Ok, now for my swap!!! I've been wanting to do a CUPCAKE swap for sometime. I know there are several out there but I still wanted to host one too. So hopefully you'll wanna sign up too. Here's my idea.
Anything cupcake goes. You could give something handmade, you could give cupcake supplies, you could give a cupcake cookbook, shall I go on???? I have my things already bought cause like I told you I've been thinking of this for sometiime. So all I need is one swapper here. LOL!! Just kidding of course. If your interested in participating in the cupcake swap either leave a comment here or email me. I need your address, email and blog if you have one. If you don't (NANCY, DORA and JEANNIE NO BLOG) you can still participate. You will need to send your things off to your Cupcake by August 18th. If you don't want a partner from outside the USA let me know.

.....meant to say also I love getting stuff finsihed - love the red and white one....and your specs...I am with you....all ok until you can't see your stitching....I need an upgrade on mine soon....have had the same frames for the last couple of checkups....thought I better given the amount I paid for them...I hate trying on glasses and these were just perfect....the sales girl said "you might want to try something else".....No these are just fine thanks...she came back with the same line which is when I checked the price of these babies....yikes.....but the prince said ....they look good...you like them...just get them....he is a prince isnt he!!...
