Ohhhhh Savannah!!!!

Last  weekend my cousins came over and we went to lunch and hung out for the day.  You know how my I'm loving having family over and being able to go see them whenever I want too.  It's heaven!!  And I'm gonna make the very most of it.  Remember last year I showed you baby Savannah??  Well she's 1 year old now.  WOW does time fly by.  We had so much fun with her. And her mommy is gonna have another baby at the end of Dec.  

Isn't she adorable???  And look she wore RED just for me.  I gave her a couple quilts so she could play on the floor.  And then of course she got to take them home.

 

That little dress is sooo cute. And so are her eyes.

 

That's what she would do when I got the camera out.  Shut her eyes and scream.  lolol She thought it was a game.

 

Uh oh someone found a doggy.  She was so funny chasing Madeline. She had the dress on so she couldn't crawl, instead she got up on all fours and would run across the floor chasing Madeline. One time she stuck her tongue out and licked Madeline's nose.  Madeline didn't know what to do with her.

 

Now Madeline was trying to hide from her.  

 

Now she's warming up to hunka.  Can we call him Grandpa Hunka??? Of course we can.

 

I think he has caught the grandpa bug now....................It's not just me boys. 

 

I could squeeze her to death.  She's soooo precious. I think she likes her two quilts too.

I hope I didn't bore you but I had to show her off. I just had too!! 

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy 4th of July to all my bloggy friends.  I hope everyone has a great day.  I'm off to enjoy some fireworks with Wilster and Hunka.  Wilster is getting us front row seats where he works.  He works part time for one of the city's around here and they are putting on a big fireworks display.  He said I had to wear walking shoes because there would be some walking.  Ummmmm  all I wanted was to see some fireworks.  Never mentioned the word WALKING!!   Apparently he hasn't read my blog lately. I'm not doing so well in the walking dept.  We had our bbq last night with Wilster. It was so nice to have him over for dinner.  Now to get Boo here too.

Does Menopause Make you Fall DOWN??

I can't seem to keep upright.  Since we've moved into this house I have fallen flat on my ...... four times. The last being yesterday. Hunka heard a loud THUD and he thought we were back in Ca. and we just had a 5.8 earthquake.   I still don't know why or how I fell this time.  Or the last three.  But I remember coming out of my coma laying on the concrete.  All dirty and bruised. I thought I broke my arm and ankle this time.  Thank goodness for all of my double jointed bones.  However I have the mother of all bruises on my knee now.  As I was lying on the ground with hunka sitting next to me, Miss Madeline was sitting on guard.  I'm not sure if she was waiting for the ambulance to come, or embarrassed that her momma fell. Boo says it's the later.  He said she didn't want the neighbors to see me on the ground.  It was sooo funny seeing how she was guarding us.  I'm gonna change her name to Lassie I think.  Send help Lassie!! Go get daddy Lassie!!  Momma's fallen and can't get up girl.   What's that Lassie??   You can't find daddy??   Run Lassie, Run!!!!  Oh sorry I got off on a tangent. I think it was the bump on my head.  

 I saw this little guy, or gal (not sure)  BEFORE I fell and bumped my head.  Good thing too because I wouldn't believe what I was seeing.  We were downstairs setting up my sewing palace when I saw something out of the corner of my eye on my sliding door.

 

Ok I'm not sure what that orange stuff is he's sliding in.  Is frogs ....  orange???? And does he  or she know I'm watching him ....??   That's anothere question I have. How DO YOU TELL??

 

Now he's just making a big old mess!!!!  

 

If he's my Prince and he's waiting for a kiss..........well that is just not gonna happen.  He needs to learn to be a little cleaner before that can take place.  I'm just sayin!!!  This is not very Prince like.  What with all the orange goo spread everywhere.  

 

More Fauna for your viewing pleasure.   This momma bird is getting annoyed at me with the camera.  Sorta like my boys.  All she does is sit there day in and day out.  What a life.  Until all those little eggs she's sitting on hatch.   Then her works cut out for her.  hmmmm wonder if she knows that?   I could be doing her a favor. 

 

This is under the deck, right off my sewing room too.  Lots of wildlife going on out there.

 

More fauna!!! Can you stand it???   I'm gonna change my name to Alice in Wonderland. So from now on please refer to me as Alice.  

 

Here's the Koi pond that is right outside my sewing room door.  I took this from the bedroom window upstairs.

 

There is the door going to my sewing room.  Can you see all the plants?  We have a ton of work to do outside.  These people planted so many different flowers.  It's really pretty because something new is always blooming.  But it all needs trimming.  And lots of weeds to pull.  I'm thinking fall will be a good time for most of that.  We did work all day yesterday out in the yard.  This is just a small section of our backyard. 

 

This is leading down to the forest we own.  lol   Remember the guys that were clearing away the brush?  We didn't even know there were stairs leading down there.  It's wayyyyy down there too.  And no I have not been down there.  That's firewood way behind that tree.  It's too rotted to use. I'm not sure why they kept it that far away. Now if it's buried in snow.............you know where I'm going with this don't you??   First off all I'd have to slip on my new polka dotted boots and then try and get down there into the forest just to get me some wood and THEN try to get back up that hill with the wood.  And with the way I'm falling these days, hunka may never see me again. I'd be buried down there in 3 feet of snow.

Just for your viewing pleasure.  Time to get busy.  Yesterday was actually hunkas first full day of retirement.  He has been on vacation for the last 5 weeks.  He's enjoying every minute of not having to work.  After 35 years at one place he deserves it.   Happy Retirement Hunka!!!!!   And please don't forget I'm retired too.   :-)    Yes I know I've BEEN retired for years.  But that's besides the point.   I still want a gold watch too.   Make it 4 karat will ya??   And maybe just a sprinkling of diamonds thrown in.  Sorry, the bump on the head again.  Makes me ramble.

I love my boys!!!

Remember the boys came over for Father's day?  Which by the way was very, nice of both of them and hunka appreciated it more than they know.   While they were here he decided to take advantage of a little muscle power. He bought a dust collector for the basement.  You know we have humidity so we buy a dehumidifier, we have dust so he buys a dust collector,  what can we get for the threads that I'm about to have all over my side of the basement???  So back to the dust collector, that thing weighs a ton. He could have gotten a 3 ton won but oh no let's not, instead he got a 5 ton one.  He needed all of us to just lift the top of that thing up. Boo had a brilliant idea to make a pulley and get it there. Man that college degree DID come in handy for us after all.  Wilster and I were to stand there on the ground and pull like we were playing tug o war while hunka and Boo lifted it into place. We came so close to the whole thing falling out of the rope before it landed into place. Wilster and I were sweatin but I'm pretty sure it was our pure strength that got it up there.

This was a recreation of the whole thing.  DUHHHH of course it is, I'm missing. Not that Wilster couldn't lift it on his own. It looks like something out of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate factory.  Look at them laughing, we were NOT laughing while we were doing that.

They said oh sure your going to throw them up on your blog and facebook. Well YEAH what else would I do with them??    Ok really I could squeeze those faces.  I love my boys!!

Madeline gets to go spend a week with her brother next month. Hunka and I are going on a trip to Wisconsin and Boo offered to have her come stay with him. Which also means I get to go to Indiana to see BOO!!!  See how it all works out?  We were worried about putting her in the kennel for a week because she's been stressed out soo much with the whole move.  Boo said it will only cost us $50 bucks a night.   lol  Funny boy!

 

Hunka and I were out for a drive (like old people do) and no it wasn't a Sunday drive.  We were looking for a White Castle that we knew was close to our house. We just could never find it. Well we finally did and I saw out of the window a Ben Franklin!!  I used be a manager at one years ago. I love the candy aisle.  lolol So I said let's go in.  Yep they still had the candy aisle and of course I had to buy some.

 

As we were pulling in the parking lot I also saw.........this!!!!   Now I'm just sayin, we do NOT have these in CA.  Oh no we sure did not.  We had to go inside and see what Dickey had to offer.  I said in my finest Missouri accent,  "hunka pull oh ver and les go nside Dickey Bubs".    Did you just repeat in that accent?? If not go back and do it to get the full effect.   You just gotta. Put the emphasis on Dickey Bub!! I'm going to be a natural here I can feel it in my bones. 

 

Other than farm & home stuff I found me some boots for winter.  How cute are these???  The right foot is a Ca. foot and the left is my Mo.  foot.  If you know me, you know I hate to wear shoes.  So this is going to be a change for this gal.

 

How about these????  Hey Polka Dot look what I found!!!  Want some???  Oh wait, YOU don't need snow boots. 

 

Off to Walmart next.  LOOK at all the Cracker Jacks.  I love it, the old fashioned boxes are back.  WOOOHOOOO 

 

And some sweet tea too. I'm in heaven......heaven!!!! What more can a girl ask for?? Other than no humidity?

My kind of day

Today was a wonderful weather day here.  I remember visiting and as hunka and I would go in and out of shops and  the shop owners would  say......it's a beautiful day today. We would look at each other as we stepped out into a cloudy overcast day and say.........what were they talking about???   Well.....now WE KNOW what they are talking about.  Funny how you grow up here and you totally forget about the weather.  Or is it that when your younger your not MENOPAUSAL???   Today was sunny, a cool breeze and not much humidity. Yes I said not much, I can't say none.  Don't think Ill be saying that for months to come.  It is so humid here that I suggested to hunka that we buy a dehumidifier for the basement, aka sewing center.   He said, do you think we need that?? I said, well I feel the carpet as I walk on it and it feels damp to me and you know my fabric (TREASURES) and books (aka my life) are down there and I'd die if they got damp. So we buy one and plug it in.  Instantly,  well about two hours later it was FULL and he had to dump the huge thing that was full of water.  We now have it plugged in 24 hours a day and we rotate it around the whole basement. What a difference.  Now if I can figure out a way to strap that bad boy onto me and get some of this humidity out I'd be set. 

Ok so back to the beautiful day, I decided to take advantage and get out in the garage and do what else ??? Unpack a few boxes.  Ok maybe 30 or more.  I think we could actually park ONE car in the three car garage if we had to right now.  I keep forgetting to take a picture of the pile O boxes we place at the curb each Sunday night.  So tonight I ran out there in my jammie's.............until I see that both neighbors across the street from me are out there. Shouldn't they be inside getting ready for bed?? I go back inside and wait, and wait, and wait,  then decide to run out and FLASH the camera.  DUH nothing like drawing attention to yourself standing there in jammie's. 

 

I'm telling you we put out about 30 to 40 boxes each week. Do you see all that paper sticking out?? I've got it so stuffed in those boxes nothing else will fit.  Will it ever end?? And what about that poor recycle guy that has to pick all of that up? He must hate that we have moved into town AND on his route.  We peek out the window each Monday morning to see if he took it all. Yep sure enough every time it's all gone. In Ca. we'd be charged a hefty fee for all that pick up. We still can't believe they just take it, no extra charge.  We called and asked three times because we didn't believe the gal the first two times.  lolol  I swear!!!

 

I wanna show you my goodies that Connie gave me for my birthday.  I love the Annie doll.  Isn't the Jim Shore angel cute and that pledge of allegiance stitchery is adorable. It is perfect for my house.  Hunka is gonna make me a frame for it. Love the little braided rug that Annie is sitting on too.  Thank you again Connie for everything. 

 

Friday I went out to get my mail, (my favorite time of day, other than time to eat)  and there was a package in there from Marsha and Frannie.  What would they be sending me?????   When I opened it up the first thing I saw was that cute card that Miss Frannie made for me.  I love it!!!  She did a great job. I think she's got her momma's talent going on there.  Then I felt that pink tissue package and OMG is it what I think it is?? My heart started racing and I got all tingly.  

 

Yessssssssssssss!!!!!   I have admired her bags forever. Marsha does an amazing job on these. And now I HAVE ONE TOO!!!!  And she gave me a pretty pair of shoes too.  Ok I know that's a card but still..........a girls gotta have shoes to go with the bag. 

 

The work she puts into these are tooo much. All those beads. And they are tiny beads.

 

Just beautiful!! Thank you Marsha and Frannie. I loved it!!!  What a nice surprise.

 

I miss all of you and I'm really trying to get back to my normal blogging.  Getting closer each day.   I'm still hopping around reading all of yours and trying to leave comments.  I read each one of yours and love them all.  So thank you!!!!

Ripped off and new kitchen design.

Can I just rant for a moment??  You know I am going to so just sit down and read.

Just before we left for Ca. and the movers were at our house in Ca. loading the truck, I got another one of my UTI's.  No doctor office was open, no urgent care open so where does one go???  the EMERGENCY room of course.  And if one has insurance well then they say, let's screw the crap out of this gal!!!  I'm not kidding I went in their in some serious pain. Or I would have never went. Plus we were leaving the state and driving for days.  Now if I went to the doctor's office it would have been cheaper, urgent care, cheaper but.......they were NOT OPEN.  Before I go further let me just say...  why do they have urgent cares in Ca. when they are NEVER open. Isn't it urgent care one needs on the weekends, and after hours when the doctor office is CLOSED??  Oh no there open for your visiting pleasure during the hours you don't need them.  I digress, I proceed to the EMERGENCY room, no one is there, which in itself was a surprise since every other person out there is dying from the "Swine Flu".  Well that's what they say on the news.  I am escorted the a bed waiting for me,  I lie down,  the nurse comes in, she takes my temp,  blood pressure, and says, pee in this cup. Which I did,  (how much did I just pay for that plastic cup to pee in?)  I take my specimen back to her, she tests it,  the doctor comes in and sits on the stool. (how much am I paying him since he sat down?)  He tells me..........you have a UTI.  DUH!!!!!!!!!!  They bring me a prescription and I'm off.  Hunka got the mail yesterday and in it was my bill from my luxury trip to the ER!!   He says to me, how much do you think that trip cost you?  I say,  uhhhhh  $200.00??  Figuring it's more since I did go to the ER!!  He says, I wish.  Then he says, oh that's our part to pay! I said WHAT??  He then tells me my luxurious 20 min. vacation cost me $900.00   I am not kidding you??   If that's not a total rip off I don't know what is.  They didn't even TOUCH ME!!  I never turned on a tv monitor, I wouldn't have peed in their cup but they insisted. So be warned if you feel ill think twice before going to the ER!!  I am just sayin!!  

Ok, let me calm down now and enjoy my drive thru the green trees and smogless skies.  I'm on my way to the kitchen design center.

I'm pretty sure they might have a beautiful kitchen in there!  How big do you need your house by the way??  They probably have two kitchens.  This is about 5 min. from my house.  On the other side of the tracks so to speak. 

 

Take a look at this one.  Someone did some serious mowing on that grass.  And look at the view they have.I wanted to drive up the driveway and snap a few.  I just might soon.  Do you see that green pretty grass on the side of the road.  I'm just not at home unless there is a splattering of disgusting trash all over the road.  Gotta get used to the trash free roads.   I could get used to this.

 

Ok we're here!!  This is what I picked out. The cabinet door on the left is going to be the  color of cabinets around the perimeter of my kitchen. Two doors to the right and left of my sink will have glass in them. The brown door is the cabinet color on the island in the middle of the kitchen.  The two small square pieces there are the granite like counter top colors.  The dark spotted one will go on the perimeter counters and the lighter spotted one will be island. I'll have bead board on each end of the island, and behind my plate rack that will go above the microwave.

 

This is the strip that will go on the back splash. Above it will be bigger tiles and below will be 6 inch tiles.  The above ones will be set on point. 

 

Here it is with the Cambria (like Granite only you don't have to seal it)  dark counter top,  the little bitty square is the color of my farm sink. The tile on the floor also looks like the big tile.  And the floor guys will lay the tiles in this cool pattern.  Tia the designer came up with it and I loved it.

This is the design the gal did on her computer for me.  That is my kitchen.  She said once my kitchen was done, those two windows would always have blue skies outside of them.  This is one side of the kitchen with the sink.

 

This is if you would turn around from the above photo.  It's the island with my new stove.   The island is going to be huge!!!  I don't have photos of the other sides of the kitchen. But I'm going to have under counter lights,  a country chandelier hanging above the island,  new lighting through out the kitchen, and on and on.  I can not wait.  Today I went and paid for it all.  I told the gal that has got to be the biggest purchase I've ever made on my credit card.  lolol  Are we ever going to rack up some mileage.  Everything should begin in  3 to 5 weeks or when the cabinet arrive.  Once they get started it will be finished in 3 weeks, so they say.    The contractor is coming on Thursday to take a look and give me some lighting ideas.  He was going to come today but Tia got food poisoning last night, so she couldn't make it today.  

 

Catch up blogging.

My pictures are stacking up in the old camera.  I've taken so many but when I go to sit down and blog..........I'm pooped and I end up not blogging.  I'm way behind on my blogging, I'll try and catch up.  I said try!!   Here we go.

A little over a week ago I had the chance to get together with old neighbors of mine. I grew up across the street from Elaine and Jeanne.  They had 5 girls we had 4.  We were all very close and remained friends even though I have been in Ca.  However I had not seen them in over 22 years so it was great.  And yes those margaritas are HUGE!!  

 

That same week I got to go to my nephews baseball game.  It's things like this I missed and now am loving.  I told him that I LOVED the color of the team uniforms.  RED!! Cody is #6. He asked me,  Aunt Sharon do you want me to hit a home run??  I said of course I do.  Well he ended up not hitting a home run so of course............the ref sucked!!  Cody's words. 

 

#13 was the sweetest kid. He has Downs Syndrome and he could not have been sweeter.  Look at his with his arms around Cody.  I wanted to squeeze him.

This is some fauna I found in the backyard.   Ok so it might not be fauna but that's what I'm calling it.  Work with me alright?

 

He's headed for my flora I can see it now.  What is with the wildlife here in Wildwood?

 

Last week I hopped in my Explorer and headed down the road.   I love driving around here. It's just beautiful!!

 

Look who I found???    Actually Connie invited me to spend the day with her. She was in town from Indiana at a quilt retreat.  She said I could come spend some time hanging out if I wanted.  OF COURSE I WANTED!!    That meant no unpacking for a whole day.  And I get to meet Connie.   Isn't she cute? And she's as nice as she is cute.   It was funny because the first thing she said was.......look I wore red just for you. And I said look I wore blue because that's the color you have on your blog photo.  lolol  

 

Connie had this huge bag O gifts for me.   For my birthday!!!  What a nice surprise. Of course I didn't take a photo of all my loot yet but I will.  I got some great things from her. She went way overboard!!  

 

And here she is with the little gift I brought her.  I think she beat me in the gift dept.  Let's face it I had to really dig to even find a bag and some tissue.  

 

Love her star quilt.  It's a Fig Tree pattern.  I think she said it's in a book?? 

 

Check out her cute little quilt on the bed. The rooms were so cute.  Even a rocking chair.  You don't know how inviting that looked to me.  I didn't see one box!! Not one!

 

This is Gracie, she's one of the fearless leaders.  And she's a crack up!!!   HI GRACIE!!

 

Gracie modeled a few things for me.  

 

 

These were lighted up baseballs on her head.  I think someone forgot to take their medication before retreating.  I'm just sayin.  Just kidding Gracie. 

 

This is Gracie's quilt.  It was so pretty.  She actually was sewing in between putting on different hats.

 

Another great one. I love the colors.

 

Loved, loved, loved this one.  This gal (I'm sorry I forgot her name) even gave me the pattern and her left over fabric so I can make one too.  She did not like this quilt at all.  I can't believe that.  Who wouldn't like this??

 

These are a few more that some of the gals made.  They had quilts everywhere.  Someone even brought a long arm so you could quilt your quilt right there when you were done sewing the top together.  How nice is that??

 

Thanks for inviting me Connie.  I had a great time.  We even took a break and ran to a local quilt shop in that area.  I haven't been to a quilt shop in over a month!!  Talk about withdrawals.   

That's it for tonight my bloggy babes!!   It's my bed time.  I've been staying up so late and then I don't get up until 10a.m.  I'm on Ca. time and can't seem to shake it.  Oh that is until I step outside and that humidity melts everything on me!  I mean really, what is that all about??   Where is that cool ocean breeze??  

NEVER moving again!!!!!

Well here I am after another week has flown by.  Have I been in this house that long already????    It is 3 weeks already.  I've got another 3 weeks of unpacking I think.   We can finally see a couple paths out in the garage. And I was able to clear off the dining room table tonight for dinner.  The boys were both here.  Boo and Wilster, uh Bill.  I made lasagna and after dinner we played this game Poser.  It was hysterical.  We laughed sooo hard.  I mean seriously hunka had tears running down his eyes.  I don't think I've been happier.  It was great having both the boys here together.  I was in heaven.  Boo is spending the whole weekend here and Wilster doesn't live far so he left for him a little while ago.  I can't wait till we do it all over again.  Soon I hope. 

Today I had my final appt. to get the design of my new kitchen.  On my way I spotted a bread co. and decided to run in quick and grab a loaf of bread to go with dinner. I just checked my email and Nancy says.........did I have a Sharon spotting??? lololol   OMG she saw me!!!  I wish she would have said something.   How excited.  I was spotted here!!  Or was she stalking me????? hmmmmmmmmmm    No I'm just kidding.   I seriously wish you would have yelled at me Nancy!!!  Next time YELL!!!  Earlier this week, Conniewas not far from my house at a retreat. So she asked me to join her for the day.  It was a great day and I enjoyed meeting her and her friends so much.  Plus it was a no unpacking day which you know I thoroughly enjoyed.  I took lots of pics but haven't loaded them here yet.   Connie is as cute as she can be and TINY!!!    You know me and those tiny bloggers.   What is up with that???   I am not THAT tall but seriously.............where are you tall bloggers??  Thank goodness for Elizabeth.      

Someone is enjoying the unpacking process.  Can you believe all this paper came out of ONE box?? How many trees did they cut down for that box??   I mean honestly.  It that just a bit over kill???  

 

Poor Madeline has about had it.   I think she knows this is her home now but she's not sure where her spot is.  There is a bit of confusion.  Remember we tossed out the old ca. king mattress before we moved. While we were waiting for the new one this was where I slept.   And so did someone else for a brief moment.  I can't believe she hopped in there.  

 

After that she decided to try another soft spot in the other room.

 

Like I don't see her hiding there. 

 

She was outside on the deck, when she spotted us.  She then saw us looking at her sooo.....

 

She turns her head like we don't know she's there.   Madeline is soooo good at hide and seek.  

 

This was our forest in the backyard.  

 

Then we hired this guy and his son to do a little trimming.  Can you see him down there?

 

This was a before photo too.  I said I wanted green trees, and boy did I ever get green. I'm up on the deck taking this. See how small that radio is on the step down there?

Hunka and I were just watching. We didn't want any ticks.  But when hunka got back in the house he had a little friend attached.  LOLOL!!!   His first tick.  Ca. boy doesn't like ticks.  I'm just sayin.

 

It's like having a campground in the backyard.   I'm serious.  We have deer, boy do we have deer. BIG deer.  My sister and I saw 4 huge deer one night last week. Our neighbor says they are 8 point buck.  Right down the street.  Hunka and Madeline were walking last night and he said they heard what they thought were hoofs hitting the concrete behind them.   Turned around and a deer was right there.  He said Madeline freaked out!!!   She's not used to seeing that in Ca.   I asked hunka if the deer had a shiny red nose???   lolol   The deer love to come in the yards and eat everyone's flowers and plants. 

This was my beautiful plant I brought home a couple weeks ago.

 

This was my beautiful plant the next morning after a deer or two walked up ON MY FRONT PORCH!!!!   At least they could have rung the darn doorbell and said welcome to the freakin neighborhood!!!

 

I think these guys must have heard there was a mishap because they just pulled up out front right after I saw the disaster!!!  They got out of the truck, looked around then left.    ????? Again, at least they could have said WELCOME!!!

 

I've since went to Home Depot and bought me a gallon jug of the nastiest smelling stuff on the planet. And I have had no more deer feasting in my yard.  There was a guy here painting in the house for us and after I sprayed everything in sight he walked out the front door. He turned around, came back in and said..........DID SOMEONE DIE ON THAT PORCH?????    I said, nope but we'll have no more deer snacking around here. 

I'll try to be back tomorrow with more.  I've had alot going on and have taken a ton of pics.  I'm just sooo tired at the end of the day, I can't even think straight.  Things are looking better though.  That's a good thing. 

A SURPRISE FROM THE SISTAS!!!!

Imagine how happy I was when this package arrived from my girl's back in Ca.  I miss them soooooo much.  Now I have something that will always remind me of them.  Yes I have other things from them that do remind me but this..............this is something to remember them by.

Oooohhhh even the tissue paper was adorable.   Nancy has a pic of the cute little drawing she did on the box. It's on her blog. Dang it I forgot to take one of it.  She is quite the little artist I must say. WHO KNEW??  lol  Both of my Sistas can doodle.   Now if only they could teach me. 

 

Look what was on the very top!!   I'll need extra sunglasses as back ups around here.   I'm not used to a sky that's not smog filled.  My eyes are very tender.   And yes that one cake on the right is SQUISHED!!!   It's a Sista thing!!!   These cakes are to die for. I'm just telling you, if you see them do not walk by.  Purchase several.  I wouldn't lead you astray. 

 

Will you look at what was inside that box??????   I LOVE IT!! And they made it using my favorite fabric!!  Mary E!!!   It is the cutest dang quilt.  Did I say I LOVE IT already??   I've been auditioning it all over the house. 

 

Nancy and Deb started getting together (behind my back) right when I said I was moving for sure.  They got busy making the blocks.  And they did a wonderful job.   I didn't have a clue.  Deb said she almost spilled the beans a few times but I didn't pick up on it.  I love a good surprise!!!!   And Lavon............I love the quilting you did.  The cherry's are great!!  Had to be cherry's on a Mary E. quilt.  Just had to be.

 

Right away I draped it on my bed. Sorry for the messy pillows.  But I had to take a pic right away.  Isn't it pretty???   OH so pretty!!!

 

How about a different angle????   Still PRETTY!!!  Did I say..... I LOVE IT!!!!

 

Then I thought I'd give it a try in the extra bedroom.  It looks pretty on the blue love seat too.  I think it would be pretty anywhere actually.  I'll be trying it out in other places in the next few days.  I already slept with it for a couple nights. Just had to!! 

 

Now I miss the Sistas even more!!!   I already missed them terribly but...........what a nice/sweet thing to do for me.  I can't thank them enough.  This means the world to me.  What could be better than a quilt from two people that you miss??   Oh maybe a visit from them????  I'm just sayin girls.   Thank you so much!!!!  And did I already say...........I LOVE IT?????  Well I do!!

Coming up for air and a piece of cake.

Where did the time go??   Last time I did a post I was about to celebrate my birthday.  Heck it's going to be time for another one if I don't get going on here.  We are still buried in boxes. I know we're making a dent in it but it sure doesn't seem so. Each night we collapse from the moving furniture, unpacking, and on and on.  Then we gt up and do it all again the next day.  I do see some empty space out in the garage now which means something is disappearing. 

Forgot to show you my apron from Bonnie. I said I'd model.   And model I did.  Love it!!  

I had a very nice birthday, thank you all for the nice birthday wishes.  I got some nice gifties too I might add.  Hope you don't mind if I show them.  You wanna see too don't you? 

 

First off the doorbell rings and look what I got?  Miss Polka Dot sent me the most beautiful bouquet of flowers.  Don't you just love getting flowers delivered??   They are still soo pretty. 

 

My sister Linda and nephew brought me this scrumptious piece of heaven right after the flowers were delivered.   They rang the doorbell and were standing there with balloons and gifts.  Let's just say this is why I moved.  I love being able to see my family on days like this.  I've missed that something awful.

 

She gave me this cute, cute, cute sheep and the trio of candles.  Do you not love that sheep?   It is perfect in the house. Linda said it looked like me.  ????   At least it's not a COW!!    Just sayin!!

 

Mail call!!!   Mail lady,  got out of the little mail truck and brought this to the door.  Miss Annie knew who it was from!!!   From Sprinkle!!!!!

 

Look at the goodness in that box!! I love that sunflower candle holder. 

 

Deb said the cover was to keep the BUGS out of my food here.  I love that ant hanging from it. 

 

I got a cheesecake mix, towels, bath smell good (you wanna eat it) See's truffles, (I did eat them),  a candle holder, stationary, note cards, and more.  I loved it all. 

 

Aren't they pretty??   Tasty too!!

 

Look who showed up?? Wilster!!! Which by the way, he told me he hates being called Wilster.  WHAT?????? How can that be??  Now what will I call him????  Just plain old Bill????   Nah!!!  WILSTER it is!! 

 

Check out the chocolate cake Wils...........uh Bill brought me!   It was delish!!   Oh and see that cute picture against the wall? Remember Miss Nancy gave that to me for my birthday when we all went shopping at Country Loft.  I love it. Now I'm looking for that perfect place to hang it. I loved the picture and was going to buy but Nancy said she'd get it for my birthday!!  WOOHOOO  What a nice gift.  It's so dang cute.

These great gifties are from Tammy!!   She even called and SANG Happy Birthday to me. Now let me tell you how special I feel.  She said I can't let anyone hear it though.  I did save it on my phone.  She sounded good I might add.  I'm seeing a career in her future. 

 

I LOVE that little bity red container.  I have a bigger one but this one is a baby. Adorable.  I got two Brighton charms, soap, stationary and Girlfriend Forever book.

Boo sent me a nice gift card to Starbucks, hunka gave me one to Homegoods, a Pandora charm, and I got lots of cards.  It was a perfect day!! Thank you to everyone. I hope I didn't forget anything.  Oh lordy I hope I remembered it all.   I felt  very spoiled and I loved every minute of it.    :-)   Thank you sooo much!!!  Birthdays are great!  Beats the alternative I say. 

Tomorrow I've got something very special to show you.  I got the best gift in the mail this weekend.   Just wait till you see.  Talk about a nice surprise!!!!  You'll have to come back and see.
